Bandwidth Monitoring Tools

Hello.
Recently my modedm started flashing even if I run no program using bandwidth, just wanted to know if anyone knows and can suggest any bandwitdh tracking or monitoring programs, where you can find out which application is using the connection.

Just in case /images/forums/icons/smile.gif you didn't know this, your modem is picking up Internet "chatter" not necessarily related to to what program(s) you are running. If you have a cable or DSL modem, that stuff goes on even with your system turned off. Broadband Internet connections are "always" on. Unless, of course you unplug your modem.

I thought its not normal, well anyway its stopped now! It was flashing only for few hours with no reason.
