I set up a wireless ADSL modem router for a friend in her house so that her lodger could share her broadband connection. This was straight forward and my friend and her lodger could both connect to the internet. The problem is that my friends lodger cannot connect to her works intranet. She had no problems with her previous freeserve dial-up account. Could anyone shed any light on what the problem could be? The ADSL modem router is a D-Link 604+ with built in firewall and DCHP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was she using VPN to connect to work, or dialing directly into the work network?

I believe she was using VPN to connect.

The router should cause no problems. I am using VPN at home with the same router and cable-broadband. You might need to tweak something in the VPN software....

Hi there Brf.
I don't know a great deal about setting up networks, but I'll have a look at the VPN settings to see if there's anything obvious.
Thanks for the replies and help anyway.
