When a co-worker downloads a .PDF file from our intranet, it automatically downloads it to C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files. It does not prompt for location. He is using Internet Explorer 5. The check mark is in the box that asks,"always ask before downloading." Any ideas?

I have this very same problem as well with a lot of my users. On the first instance of a download like this, you get the message box 'always ask before downloaded' and it would... except in the corner of that message box is another checkbox 'do not show this message again'... so it gets ticked (you know the scene, click everything in sight without reading or thinking :-D ).
I have yet to discover how to recover the option, and get the download location option box to appear again - I have looked everywhere!

Cannot Specify Download Directory for File.
Double-click My Computer.
On the View menu, click Folder Options.
On the File Types tab, click the appropriate file type in the Registered File Types box.
Click Edit.
Click the Confirm Open After Download check box to select it.
Click OK, and then click OK again.
