copy registry path (W2K)

Hi, it seems to be a simple request, but so far I have only found out to read and write single Registry keys.

But I would need to copy a whole Registry subtree from local Machine/software to current User/software. How could i do this with scripting? do I need to write functions therefore? is there an Example?
