If the Samba server is well configured to work with your network and there's a shared a folder, you must be able to see it in Network neighborhood...

Sambe does not support netbeui or i am not able to get it configured :) . If you use the standard win xp setup and samba is configured it works like a charm.

Yes, Samba doesn't work with NetBEUI, you must use NetBIOS over TCP/IP...

You are so right i should have read the info on samba .
The other thing i noticed, when i connect to a windows 98 shared drive, it does not ask for a password. Even thought it's set up for it and using windows 2000 to connect will stop and ask me. For topic starter samba, but there lots of info on the internet.
Most linux distros also have info on how to setup samba on that distro, so you might want to look there first.
