Desktop Question (W98)

On the bottom left of the screen, just to the right of the start button, is a set of "quickstart" icons. Except this computer has two identical sets. How can I delete one set?

Right-click the Taskbar and see if a 'Custom' or 'New' bar has been created, uncheck it. If there's 2 copies of the QuickLaunch bar, uncheck one of them, it's not actually deleting it.
