Hi there,
I have recently created a java sript based menu for my website and have come acrros a few issues.
I complete my site and it looks how I want it for now, so I test it from it's local folder on my hard disk drive and it still works ok.
I then test it via IIS and the menu does not apear.
It is a floating menu and I have placed it over the original table based hyperlink menu. The original menu is not visable when the java menu is present and working correctly, but remains there for such reasons like this where the menu fails to appear in IE.
I have also uploaded the site to my webspace and am having the same problem, but get a couple of different results depending on what version of Java I use.
If I use MS Java I get no error message, but the menu does not work.
If I use the sun java, I get
Line: 466
Char: 127
Error: Object Required
Code: 0
URL: http://(url of site and htm file)
If I unable the script debugger, I get:
Error
A runtime error has occured.
Do you wish to debug?
Line: 465
Error: Objects Required
The js file that appears to be the problem is called mmenu.js And Line 465 is located there.
There is another js file, menu_array.js but this doesn't appear to load.
If you open my uploaded site http://www.thesillypenguin.co.uk/penguin.htm and save the webpage to the hard disk, it doesn't load the menu_array.js file and the reference to it in penguin.htm is missing.
I know I uploaded the file.
Please help!
If anyone needs the entire site in zip format, let me know and I will upload to my ftp
Thank you in advance
PB
