I have two computers in my home but they are not networked. Both are connected to the internet via cable, one being directly connected and the other using a wireless remote receiver from the main computer. Is it possible to backup each of these computers to each other since they are both on the same cable system? If not, can I back up data on one computer to the other via the internet? Thanks - Shad

What do you mean not networked? If computer b is using computer a to access the internet it sound to me like they are networked. But more to the point if the computers can be put in the same workgroup and have an IP address on the same subnet then you can back each computer to the other. For example give computer a the IP address of 192.168.100.1 and computer b the IP address 192.168.100.2 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and a workgroup name of your choosing (make sure it is the same for both computers) and the computers should be able to share drives. Although you may have to map the drives or you can use the netuse command on the command line.

Make sure to enable File and Print sharing in the Network settings found in Control Panel. Then right click on files and folders you want to share on each PC.
