Hangs on P/W requesr (W98)

My sisters computer hangs each time it is started asking for a password. There is no password and clicking enter closes the request and the computer starts. How do I eliminate this request.

Double check these:

a) The Logon type under the Network Control Panel is set to Windows Logon
b) There are no files ending in PWL in your C:\Windows (delete any there)
c) Additionally, check for a C:\Windows\Profiles folder (and delete that if present too)

See if those things stop it from coming up.
