I have a problem viewing pictures that have been uploaded to a "gallery" in another forum that I belong to. I CAN view them with IE version 5.5 running on a Windows2000 system, but NOT on IE version 6 running on WindowsXP.

What I want to do is make sure that the "Internet Options" are configured the same on both machines. Is there an easy way to get a printout of all of the settings or do I need to do a screen shot of each tab in the options dialog box?

Better yet, any idea why I can view the pictures with one system and not the other?

Two simple reasons I can think for it not working with IE-6.

1. Maybe the gallery site has an unsigned active-X control. You could try tweaking your security setting while visiting the page.

2. IE-6 blocks cookies by site. If you are getting the eye + red-shield "privacy report" symbol in the lower-right status bar of IE-6, double-click that symbol to allow cookies for that site.

Excellent! Thanks Brf, I'll try those suggestions and let you know.

Ok, I tried both of those ideas, I've duplicated the settings I'm running on the 'good' computer and I've tried adjusting the settings to LOW security for EVERY zone but NOTHING WORKS.

Me thinks I've finally figured out why Microsoft is the MOST HATED software company in the world!

Do you have "show pictures" selected on the IE6 machine (Internet Options > Advance > Multimedia)?

Yes, I have "show pictures" enabled. It's weird that I can view pictures just about everywhere else, except now I've noticed that SOME of the HTML web-mail that I get, won't display pictures either. Especially those that use the picture as a hyperlink. These same hyperlinks also don't work. BTW, I'm reading the HTML mail through Internet Explorer and NOT through Outlook or Express or Endura or any other email program.

Started grasping at straws. Noticing that some links aren't working, I'm thinking it MAY have something to do with some scripting (perhaps JAVA-script) issues. I right-clicked on the page so I could view the source-code. It's a php file, but I can still see the HTML. There's a strange reference to ZoneAlarm, a firewall program. Their side or mine?

Could ZoneAlarm be causing this problem? I shut down ZoneAlarm and relaunched the website.

Viola! The pictures magically appeared! So somewhere in Z.A., there's a setting not allowing the script or something to run.

I haven't checked the Web-Mail problem yet, but I'm guessing that it too will be resolved.

Thanks for your help. Now I'll need to find a ZoneAlarm forum and see if I can get some assistance there!

Thanks Again everybody!

F.Y.I. - Shutting down ZoneAlarm also restored functionality to the WebMail problem mentioned earlier.
