cd problume (All)

Dear friend

I have a problume with cd room that when i insert a cd into the cd room when cd spin in the cd room the authomatically shut down and restart or complete shut down and not re start then i disconnect the power supply of computer after spent of 2 minits i again restart the pc .

kindly provide an information what is happened .

You say the OS is = All
Which OS are you using on the problem PC?

I don't know but to make clear...You place any CD in the tray and it shuts down your PC; correct?

If true then try inserting the CD and then immediately hold down the Shift key to over ride AutoRun of the CD.

Does it still happen?
If not then can you use Windows Explorer to view the contents of the CD?

i am using two operating system win98 and xp pro
the problum accured in both operating systems. The problum is still prisist

yes i do as repot _2 explained but problum is still prisist

if it happened in both OS versions and as there are no joint settings between the both(correct me if im wrong) unless youve got some sort of virus that would spread and automaticly do it, id say it has to be a hardware problem...but ive nevr heard of that b4...try pulling out the cd drive and testing it on another comp...that way ull no if its software or not.

did it happen all of a sudden or eversince u installed ur OS(s)
