Just a note. Anyone here heard of NTL freedom? An internet and phone package? A mystery and a tip. I installed the thing a little while back. 'Go to such-and-such-a-page, click Autoregister.... A box will pop up telling you installation is complete.' I did. It didn't. No box in sight. I couldn't connect with ntlFreedom at all. In desperation I connected with my old (pay-per-minute) ISP and looked for a help page on the topic. Nothing. I was worried we'd signed ourselves to 12 months of an inoperative 'Net link. Eventually I found out how to enter the settings manually (anyone else with the same problem, drop a line and I'll tell you.) But the mystery is: What happened during the original installation? It looked like it had installed...
