Outlook hanging when logging onto ADSL via VPN client (WXP-Pro)

We are experiencing this issue at work. Just to give you an overview of the setup we have; we connect to an exchange server using outlook as the email client, to connect to the corporate network we are using ADSL and going through the Nortel VPN client. Anyone got any ideas why this may be occurring, settings to check etc?

Are you using wireless network to access? IF yes, try lowering the MTU on your VPN connection software. I think the default is 1500, Bring it down to 1200 and try , bring it upward 10 at a time and try until your connection works. Good luck.
