Hi guys.

I have disactivated everything in the start menu (unfortunately, there is still the program icon). My problem is that when I install a new software/game, it appears in the start menu. Is there a way to permantely remove everyting, and make it impossible for new software to install their shortcuts??

Thanks

Hi, I'm having a similar problem with win2k. I need to remove the programs sub-menu from start, permanently. Unfortunately, erasing them in the profile (or in the start menu) only makes windows create new ones.

I actually need to disable user access to the local drive, which I've done everywhere except one place. Double clicking on the programs sub-menu will open that folder...and give the user full access to the drive.

The only other way is to completely disable the start menu, which would be annoying.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoViewOnDrive"=dword:xxxxxxxx

It works for double-clicking in the start menu, and probably everywhere else. No problems yet.
