Hi, I have a problem with my volume icon not showing up on my taskbar and my network icon doesn't show up even after I set the options to have it on. I have Windows XP. This occured after I installed and uninstalled one of those registry cleaner. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I had the same thing with the volume control
and several other icons after installing and using
Perfect Compaion for Windows XP. Tech support
said this shouldn't and couldn't happen. I used
system restore to get it back like it was and
uninstalled the program. I was really impressed.

Go to Start, control panel, Sound and Audio Devices, Volume Tab, Place a check in, Place volume icon in taskbar.

I did, but everytime I restarted the sound volume would be unchecked and the network icon would still be check but woudn't show up when I connect online.
Does system restore work after a month since the problem? I got lazy :P Didn't really bother with this, but its starting to get annoying.

That depends on how large you let System restore be. Just check back through the dates and see how far back it'll go.

Hmm, seems like it can only go back 2 weeks. Is there another way to fix this?

My icons just come up at random. One startup I might have 3, the next 9. As a workaround, I usually go into the sound control panel, uncheck it, apply that, then check it again and hit OK. As for a *real* fix, I don't know of anything right offhand...time for Ixquick...

Sorry for the confusion, just saying I was going to check a search engine and see what I come up with...
