I recently had to replace the hard drive on my laptop and I have completed rebuilding the system. I just installed Registry Mechanic version 5.1. I have to re-register the software in order to get full functionality.

The registration is failing this time. I get a dialog that states the registration has failed and to verify that I've entered the key correctly and that I'm connected to the Internet.

The key is correct and I'm connected to the Internet.

Does PC Tools have a problem with their registration database that prevents the software from being re-registered?

By the way, I'm up-to-date on all system software including VBScript.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi George,

The latest version of registry mechanic is 6.0. Uninstall the version you have (5.1) and install 6.0 and then try to register.

hope this works.

Also, make sure that your license code has not expired as this will not work.

It does seem to be a quirk in the registration process on PC Tools' end.
I tried entering my middle initial in the name field and SHAZAM, activation completed successfully. It would seem that I entered my middile initial at the original activation and had to do so again to match up the name to the key. Registration process is a little clunky if you ask me. Needs improvement.

With most registrations, you will need to use the exact name you have used to sign up for the product.

Normally you can just copy and paste the info from the email provided by the company.
