Sometimes, if you click on the program, and choose to uninstall; it will tell you that it couldn't find the uninstall info, and ask (Yes or No) if you'd like to remove the entry from the list.

Otherwise go to this location in the registry, and delete the entry that correspnds to the program you removed.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

You know why they called it <font color=blue>Windows</font color=blue>?
Because as soon as it opens, all the bugs get in.

When ever I have this problem I go to search, type in the name of the program - search files and programs and delete from the search program.

Well, the software and all related files are already removed, but the Add/Remove entry to uninstall was still there for some reason, and they were wondering how to remove the entry.
