IE 6 and its funkiness

I try checking out some sites that are clearly up and running, yet IE 6 tells me they're not up and cannot be found. How do I know they're up? Well I also happen to use Netscape in case IE goes psycho on me as it is now. Sometimes it loads a site but not fully. What I mean by this is some images won't be loaded or will be semi-loaded. When I run Netscape, they all appear to be there. Why not use Netscape you ask? Well I just don't like Netscape very much... I prefer IE, which is why I'm here to hopefully get some tips and tricks on how to get it running healthy. Eversince I took out all this spyware junk using Spybot S & D and Adaware 6.0, IE seems to have been left in a state of horror. Any ideas on how to repair this tragic problem?

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Security and click Default

see it that makes any difference

You can't click on it... Its like unclickable... I can click on Custom Level. Its already set on Medium though...
