I had a system with the following configuration:

Celeron 1.7 Ghz processor
Intel D845PESV motherboard
128 MB DDR RAM
20 GB hardisk

I had observed the following temperatures in the bios:
Processor Zone temperature: 37 C / 98 F
System Zone1 Temperature: 28 C / 82 F
System Zone2 Temperature: 28 C / 82 F
Processor Fan Speed: 2808 RPM

My room temperature is around 24 C in mid winter and in mid summer it will be around 37 C.

My power supply had a fan which blows the air out.

My case also had the facility to fix another fan. The facility was provided in the backside of the case.

Now i had two questions.

1) Is my processor working in the safety zone of temperature? Because even after a gap of 12 hours including the mains switched off, when i switch on my computer and immediately observe the temperatures in the bios it is showing the processor temperature around 37-38 C. Is this normal?

2) Is it really necessary to add an extra fan to the case considering the above temperatures including the room temperature. If yes what factors should i consider while buying a fan. As iam a bit price conscious i decided not to go for highend or costly fans. If i had to fix a fan in the case, in which direction should i fix it? Should it [censored] the air in or blow it out?

Some of my friends say that an extra fan always had its own advantage. Is this true?

Please note:
------------
1) My room is not an air conditioned one

2) I had placed my CPU on the table and not in a cabinet under the table.

3) I live in southern part of India and the summer is really hot here. The mid summer temperatures will rise upto 42 C

4) Double checked the heatsink and it is properly and securely fixed.

5) Fastened all the wires and ribbon cables in the case into a bunch.

6) C -- Centigrade
F -- Farenheit
