Why is it that almost everyday there is a new 1.67mb update that needs to be downloaded? It seems like this must be a complete refresh of the database or virus definitions files. If I didn't have Wireless broadband I'd really be upset having to download this much almost every day. Can't you do some kind of incremental updates that would decrease the file downloads?

Hi Ndallas75002,
The reason why there is a new 1.67mb update is because new signatures are added to this file on a regular basis. As new malware are being created, new signatures are developed in order to combat these new infections.
PC Tools is looking into developing an incremental update.

I understand the need to add new signatures but not everything everytime. If I didn't have wireless I'd have removed the software a long time ago. As it is it's annoying not to be able to set a config setting to perform updates in the background silently. And now it's even worse going from a 1.7 mb download to a 3 mb download. It's getting worse. Hope you get the incrementals in place soon and use them like all the other virus software packages have.

Spyware Doctor version 5.0 will have an incremental smart update feature.
