I thought I posted this earlier, but I don't see it. So I will post it again.
My sound Icon has dissapeared, how do I get it back?

Double-posted in Hardware.

Start > Run > control mmsys.cpl

If the checkbox labeled "Show Volume Control on the Task Bar" is unchecked, check it and hit "Apply".

If it is currently checked, un-check it, hit "Apply", then check it back and hit "Apply" again.

Go to control panel sounds and check out the options there and check the box display sound icon on taskbar.

That was where my post refered to.

If that is blanked out, then you might need to check and make sure that the sound hardware is functional. Check the device manager to see if there are any sound icons with a red x or yellow ! over them.

Start > Run > devmgmt.msc

(Sorry 'bout being gone so long).
Let me recap:
Several weeks ago when the system went down, I disscovered when I fanally got it runing again, that setings everwhere, were screwed up, and had to be redone. I just disscovered the reason I lost the speakr icon was; SOUNDS AND MULTIMEDIA PROPERTIES) AUDIO tab) Prefered Device)Record, Playback & MIDI----. Were all incorrectly installed. Once this was corrected, the option for "show volume control on taskbar" was now available. But the sound card must be damaged, as all I have is a buzzing sound.
The "Mother" of this rig is soon going to come look at the problem, and we will go from there...thanx all...Ed...
