I keep getting an "Error writing to drive c:" I hit enter and it runs fine. But it happens again. I run scandisk and it fixes problem but it pops back again in a day or 2 or sometimes a minute or 2. How can I find out if it is my hard drive failing or a software problem?

Go to the HDD manufacturers website and download and run the hard drive diagnostics for the model you have. This should give you a good idea about whether the drive is going bad or not.

do a complete scandisk on your c drive. and/or get a defragment program like diskkeeper, norton utlity to check your disk.
You probably have some bad sectors on your drive

SCANDISK SAYS IT FIXED BAD SECTORS BUT THEY COME BACK IN A FEW MINUTES TO A FEW DAYS. LUCKILY IT HASN'T HAPPENED IN ABOUT A WEEK NOW, "KNOCK ON WOOD". MAYBE IT IS FIXED, I HOPE. THANKS FOR EVERYONES HELP.
