We have 3 Macintosh users here that store files on our main shared file server (Windows 2000 Server - NTFS). Usually, there are no problems, but recently, I've noticed via errors in my backup logs that certain files couldn't be read. Upon further investigation, the files in question can't be deleted, renamed, etc. either. The only thing I've been able to do is remove all "working" files from the directory that they reside and click-and-drag the folder with the bad files in it to a separate location on the server drive - then I just tell ArcServe to not back that folder up.... If I try to delete the files, for example, I get a "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." error. If I open the Properties for a file, it's completely blank... There are many other Macintosh files being stored on the server that work just fine. It's just certain ones here and there that do this. Any help or ideas are appreciated!

Usually running scandisk or checkdisk, or whatever it is called in Win2K, will fix that type of problem.

I ran a full scandisk on the NTFS drive that contains the bad files and still no luck...
