I have a DVD-ROM drive that comes with a utility that lets you configure settings for the drive. One of the settings is to set the spin down time. The highest I can select is 8 minutes. The problem is I have couple of games that have redbook audio and I'll start and play the game and the music will play fine. But, then when there's no music for awhile (after spin down time) I'll get to a point in the game where the CD music is supposely supposed to kick in. The computer tries to access my DVD-drive and it freezes my game and then it'll crash the game with a blue screen of death message. I checked my CD's and they look in good condition. So, there must be something wrong with my DVD drive. What I wanted to know is if there is a way to set the spin down time to a higher setting or maybe a no spin down time setting? Or how about is there a program out there that that can do this? I really like the music in the games so I really don't want to disable the music.
