dns issue (W2K)

greetings!

i'm planning to promote my win2k server to dc. can u help me on the details on what do and data i need before doing so.

others say i have to configure first dns before promoting. if so, what should be the details of my settings? i have a newly registered domain name, an adsl connection, 2 lan cards (1 public and 1 private)

here are my present settings

on the server:

lan 1 - 203.215.x.x
mask - 255.255.255.0
gateway - 202.215.x.x
preferred dns1 - 202.78.97.x
preferred dns2 - 202.78.97.x


lan2 - 192.168.0.200
mask - 255.255.255.0
no gateway
preferred dns1 - 192.168.0.200
preferred dns2 - 202.78.97.x

on my win2k clients

lan 1 - 192.168.0.x
mask - 255.255.255.0
gateway - 192.168.0.200
preferred dns1 - 192.168.0.200
preferred dns2 -

I would just setup a zone with the name of the domain you will make.

I have heard both sides about making the DNS service before promote, but I have never had a problem starting DNS as I promote the server.
