Michel,
"files generated by windows"

I believe that if the files are generated by Windows itself then they are all needed.

Many or most applications installed on a PC will place needed files in those same folders.

The only way to truely know is to format the drive and perform a fresh new install of Windows. In this way you will know that you have nothing more than what is needed or necessary.

If you were to take this approach then make sure to gather all of your drivers before hand.

Of course, the contents of:
C:\Windows\TEMP and C:\WINDOWS\msdownld.tmp
are typically safe to delete.

Always glad to help!

You know why they called it Windows?
Because as soon as it opens, all the bugs get in.
