I have found that somehow my icons have become distorted - I went to this site and I for the life of me can't figure out how to correct this proble. I am not computer savvy so any and all help would be appreciated!!

Tweak UI may help you. To install it, open the EXE you download, and extract to your desktop (Hitting Browse, the Desktop entry at the top and OK is the quickest way) and hit unzip. Now close that out and right click on the tweakui file that looks like a notepad with a gear on it, and hit Install. The help file will open, just close that. Now go to Start Menu>Settings>Control Panel and open Tweak UI. There should be a Repair tab. Check in there and the drop box should already say Repair Icons, so just hit Repair now. Your icons should fix (you may have to restart)

Hope that helps.

Another possible fix would be to delete the shelliconcache file.

The easiest way to do this is to restart in Safemode by going to Start, Shutdown, Restart.

When it begins the restart hold down the Ctrl key until the Startup menu appears and then select SafeMode.

Once the PC has fully started just restart it again with a normal start by going to Start, Shutdown, Restart and let it do it's thing.
