How can I make a disk drive letter perminent? My USB drive letter changes when I put a card in the card reader. There must be a way for perminently labeling a hard drive. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much.

Not enough information in the question. What are the drive letters now in use? What type drives are being assigned the letters?

The BIOS on the motherboard gives out drive letters in the following order:
A goes to the first floppy drive
B goes to the second floppy drive if there is one
C goes to the boot/system hard drive
D goes to the second hard drive or to the second partition on the first hard drive
Succeeding letters go first to more hard drives then to partitions on those drives.
Zip drives and CD Drives get the next letter/s but these can be changed in Windows.

The config.sys and autoexec.bat files with lines that load the CD drivers can have a specified drive letter assigned.
