windows password!!!!! (W98)

help please..for some strange reason all of a sudden when i start my computer up ..windows asks me for a password.the only way i can fully boot is to click on the return button to get my desktop up ..ia m running windows 98 .if any body could help me in errasing this problem it would be fully appreciated . many thanks

In Control Panel > network properties: Make sure the logon type is set to "Windows Logon"

Do a search for *.PWL and delete all results

Delete "C:\Windows\Profiles" folder

Now when you reboot you should get a screen that says you can enter no password (but a username is required) and it will not pop up anymore.
