I've tried to install windows 2000, xp, and 98SE and 98FE. In 2000/xp, setup will run until it is done copying files, and then shutoff automatically after saying "setup is starting windows," right before the actual setup begins (where it gives the option to press enter to continue with actual setup). In 98, setup will run until it begins to copy files to the hard drive, then shut itself down. I have tried a vast variety of things to fix this, and have been unsuccessful. I've flashed the bios, tried a different hard drive, a different cd-rom, a different (higher power) power supply, formatted the hard drive then tried to install, and tried different RAM. I have no idea what to do next, but any suggestions or solutions are GREATLY appreciated.

My system specs/brand:
Asus A7N266-VM motherboard (nvidia nforce chipset)
AMD Athlon 2000+
2 x pc2100 DDR
WD 20GB Hard drive
Asus 52x CD-RW
2 x 80MM Case Fans (heat is not an issue)

Maybe your processor is overheating, check the CPU temperature and check the fan on it...
