I keep getting a "Fast Disk Driver failed to communciate with DOS hard disk driver. Driver loading aborted" message appear when I boot my machine. The message appears, the system will display the message for several seconds, but then continue with the boot sequence.

The machine has a SCSI cable, and what looks like a SCSI PCI card. I assume that the hard disk is connected via the SCSI cable, however I am not sure.

Anyone got any ideas???

hi charisma,

not much to be found on that subject. Or maybe i am looking in the wrong places :).

Seems indeed to be related to a scsi drive. The part "bus mastering " to be precise. So the driver that enables the scsi drive to chat with other components without going through the cpu don't work. Chatting is still there throught the cpu or dos compatibility mode.
Not taking advantage of the faster available bus mastering. Just thinking out loud here.

Guess the precise setup of the pc might shed more light on the subject. If you could find out what scsi pci card and what device is attached to it. Then trying to find a better driver for it (or the right 1). Or editing something somewhere. Just to have a few more options to search with . Maybe aida32 might be of some help. http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php
