Can copy but not paste! PLEASE HELP!!! (W2K)

I've had this problem with my machine for quite some time and it has come to a point where I can't stand it anymore.

When I connect to the Internet, everything works fine for a while and I have no problems. All of a sudden an error message comes up saying that "svchost.exe" has had a problem and it will be closed by Windows. I click "ok" hoping that it won't cause any problems. Then I realise that I cannot paste anything. Also, I realise that javascript does not work anymore and I cannot access Hotmail.

To try and fixed this problem, I download the latest update for NAV and run a scan on all my drives to check for any viruses. The end result was that it detected nothing. Furthermore, I format the partition that contains the Windows 2000 files and re-install Windows 2000 Professional, including all my programs. To my disappointment, my actions have no effect to the problem.

I have no idea what to do now and I'm in desperate need of help to fix this annoying bug.
Please keep in mind that I am Windows-challenged! Thanks.

I can definately see some things right away that jump out at me, but I will leave the hijack work to those more experienced with it. I am sure rjmac or metallica will be along eventually to help you with your results. Hang in there, help is on the way.

guys u should have searched further here in winguides for ppl having ur same problem i ve been suffering from it for along time and looked everywherre in microsoft knowledge base, technet,and the newsnet with nothing to end my winpain anyway when i searched here i found the answer just download this from microsoft site Windows2000-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe
