I cannot for the life of me find the IE url history in the windows registry.
I have found the "typed url's" and am able to remove them, but IE keeps a url history when you type www.b (or something similar) in the address bar, down drops a list of every web page i've been to that begins with b.
I have searched the registry for one of the url's (www.beer.com for example) and I find nothing. Yet www.beer.com IS in the list when i type www.b
Can anyone tell me where these are stored? Or are they encoded or something?
I even tried using "Registry Crawler" with no luck.

I believe the data is stored in HKCU\ Software\ Microsoft\ Protected Storage System Provider
However, the data is encrypted so you wont be able to see any info

I checked that location, and there is nothing there. Not even encrypted data. It just says value not set. Any other locations that might be it?

If you want to clear or turn off the Autocomplete, you can do that from Internet Options.
You said you found and clear the TypedURLs... I found it to be in two different locations, did you clear both? I also found another location with a large number of URLs:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\RAS Autodial\Addresses
These two, the section with the number string, is more than likely different on your system, but you get the general idea. /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-343818398-1580818891-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\RAS Autodial\Addresses
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-343818398-1580818891-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
I also checked
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider
in my registry, and it is empty for me as well.
Always glad to help!

Thanks for the reply.
I don't use RAS, so there is nothing in that key for me.
This key HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-343818398-1580818891-854245398-1003\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs
(with different numbers) is empty as well.
There has got to be a place these autocomplete urls are stored.
Anybody else?

Anybody? There has got to be someone that knows the location here.
Any registry guides that are more in depth than the free one from winguides maybe?
