I am using the dial up access. When i tried to open the IE 6 browser , the toolbar in the IE browser seems to be in disorder position. For example when i open the browser there is a white patch of background appearing in the right top of the IE browser. The worse thing is if there is a pop up small window when i navigate to a website, when i close the pop up window , the pop up image of the window seem to glue/appear/map on the parent window which cause the parent window toolbar to go in a disorder manner . I have print screen the faulty window to a image you can retrieve the image at this url http://home.pacific.net.sg/~karent81/error-in-browser-display.gif
Maybe you can view the image and help me to solve the problem. I have tried to uninstall the IE browser but is futile because (when i click onto Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs->Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1. The only options ( a pop up dialog ) it gives me is to Repair Internet Explorer is enabled while the other two options are Add a component and Uninstall Internet Explorer and all its components are DISABLED.(i log in as Administrator so I should have the access right to uninstall the IE).I am running on windows 2000 professional
How to solve this problem?thanks

<a target="_blank" href=http://pachome2.pacific.net.sg/~karent81/error-in-browser-display.gif>Here is the clickable link</a> so others may more easily view your image and possibly offer a better response than mine.

I experience a similar 'redrawing' problem in my work's Win2K pro machine but it does not appear in IE6sp1 on that machine. For my problem I can just wait and it redraws itself eventually. It happens when it is running an intensive report compilation. I do not know the cause or resolve. It does seem related to the CPU being in full use while it is trying to draw the image. I often can Minimize all running windows to the task bar and when I open it again the image is redrawn and Ok.

But for IE6 have you tried going to Full screen (F11) and back again to see if it will then redraw the image correctly after the page has loaded?

Perhaps you are using an older version of DirectX. (I will now have to check mine at work). Perhaps a DirectX upgrade is in order or directdraw.dll has gone corrupt on you.

mine is running on the latest internet explorer 6 sp1 and the direct X is also the latest . I am not sure where does the problem goes wrong . The only solution i can think is to uninstall the IE and reinstall it . But as i mention the thread above i cannot even uninstall the IE . This problem really gives me a headache?
