Goofed big time - set a password for content advisor settings and somehow have locked myself out of viewing any web sites at all, regardless of their content. Worse: the password was random and not reproducable, so I can't use it to unlock the settings. Anyone have any ideas? Essentially IE is useless to me now, because it asks for a password I don't have for every URL on the internet.

Reinstalling's not working either, BTW, because I keep getting a "Windows Logo Testing" error (see my earlier post in this forum). Thanks for any and all help.

Try this:

Shut down all instances of IE.

Use regedit and delete the sub-key Ratings under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\policies]

Maybe reboot for good measure and then give IE a try.

Since this Internet Explorer issue is giving you so much burden, why don't you just reinstall Windows. Starting from scratch can also saves you lots time. If you want to do so, make sure you backup all important files, personal files or anything like that. Good luck!!
