Hi All!
I have been playing again....
I finally thing I may have found the cause of IE being slow to open a web page...
I have seen many post about IE being slow to open web pages,,,,
The problem is a routing issue in the network applet,,,
I have two nic cards in my puter... one nic card connects to the cable modem.. and the other nic connnects to the other puter....
I didn't see the problem using zonealarm...
I didn't like sysgate firewall cause I have to add tcp/ip to the nic card that connect to the other puter inorder for it work using sygate firewall...
NONO in my books,,,
Now when I got to the outpost firewall,,
my pages where slow to load... like it was hunting.... A bell went off .. I have seen post like this,,, What is the deal...
So here is how I resolved it... I followed <a target="_blank" href=http://grc.com>http://grc.com</a> advise on how to secure your P.C. in the network applet...
But when you set up the network applet
connect the modem to the TCP/IP only then untick the bonding to the microsoft network and print file sharing....
**** do not connect the modem to Netbios ****
The other nic is connected to the Netbios only and is bonded to the microsoft network and file and print sharing...
*** this nic is not connect to TCP/IP ****
I do not use a router....
so for people using a router I can see how this can be a issue... Cause everything thing is interconnected.. Causing things to hunt for the right directions to go..
My web pages load lighting fast again...
Thanks
Mac!!!
I've heard a saying : about 99% of computer problems sit in front of the monitor
"If you can't use this program, box up your computer and send it back, you are too stupid to own it."
