View Full Version : Can't "send to" for OE (W2K)

Since the install of Office XP, I can't "send" a link or page by email in IE6 or do a "send to" for a file in Explorer. The system keeps popping up the Outlook setup wizard. (I did not install Office's Outlook XP.) I want it to go to Outlook Express as it did before the upgrade.

Any thoughts?

Check outlook express is your default client

From Internet Explorer click Tools > Internet Options > Programs

Outlook Express does not list as the default email client. No programs appear in the drop down list.

Right then, there lies the problem

Click Start > Run and paste the bold and click ok "C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg

Alter if you have outlook express installed in a different location.

Outlook Express will now be listed in the drop down menu

Thanks, this did solve the problem where Outlook Express was not listed as the email program, however, the initial problem is still happening. Whereby, whenever I try to do a "Send to" in Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer, the Outlook setup wizard appears.

Open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\Outlook Express

Locate Outlook Express in the left column and verify the two values are Default and DLLPath

DLLPATH was missing. I copied the key value from another computer. Now, the Outlook setup wizard does NOT show up. However, neither does the OE send mail window. I've verified all other key values in the registery under MAIL are the same.

Another other thoughts?
