Hi guys...First of all I want to say HELLO since I'm a newbie here.....

Then....My Problem: I have 3 PC's connected through an Encore 8-port hub...One of those PC's has Windows Me installed and the other ones (2) have Windows 95 installed...

The strange thing is: One of the Pc's with Windows95 can access the other two PC's and viceversa, but There's no communication between the WindowsME one and the another one with Windows 95, although I can ping from both sides to the other one...

I made the diskette for Home Networks that come with WindowsME and it didn't help....

Any tips on this would be really great!!!

hi,
u have a small network with three PC's , one is Winme and other 2 are win95 and u have also using 8 port hub now listen carefully theres no need of home networking floppy diskette. follow me

first the network cables are both end straight cable. all PC's should be connected to Hub ok. check the Lan and Hub lights connectivity.

for all PC's

right click on network neighbour, select properties.

now u can see three tabs there, General, Identification, User something.

first General,

1. select client for microsoft networks.
2. Add TCP/IP protocol , by default automatically loaded.
3. add NetBeui Protocol for small network .
4. select TCP/IP protocol with ur network card name and click properties. and type IP address ok

Second Identification

1. PC or user name
2. Workgroup name same for all pc's in network
3. Description its optional

thrid User

select share level acess don't select usel level access

after made all changes plz restart all systems.

then ping each PC's i'm sure the problem will be solved.

thanks

I mean....Workgroup names are OK..But I don't know if IP numbers are so.... Windows me one has 192.168.0.1, 486 one has 192.168.0.2 and the other has 192.168.0.3...maybe could be a range problem?...
