Mac, Thanks for the insight to that problem.
Although I have no problems with 4277 I have had problems in the past with others. I usually just wait the week and get the next better .dat file.
It is good to know that there is another option.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mac,
I'm sure you already know this, but you could have reverted back to a time before you installed the file using System Restore in Windows Me:
Start/Run/MSConfig/Launch System Restore
It's a bit of an extreme solution, kinda like swatting a mosquito with an 2"x4".
Oh, well. Beggars can't be choosers.

Hi! Nana!
l turned system restore off.... When I installed Windows ME... Like any other Microsoft Version I don't trusted there restore...
It used to be called Back up!.. LOL I found out it didn't really work either... If your drive took a dive... all your backup disk where useless cause the files to decode them where on the drive that took a dive...
And I turned it off cause the restore file can be infected to so if you go restore you will be restoring the virus to...
I back up a drive my way so if it takes a dive I can just get the other drive and restore it my way...
This windows me thing is just a play with me thing cause I have windows 98SE running on the other puter... Windows Me is to touchy... It is picky to.. I just now got it running ok.. It is hard to find the right drivers and software that will run on windows ME... I had to install the software in a certain order or ME will crash to... This is the first day that I have got from sleeping and the Windows ME was not BLUE screened...
I think it was blue screening while I sleeping cause the cable modem goes off then comes back on and something in these Windows ME drivers can't handle the off then on...
I would rather uninstall and edit and change something than go restore ....
And I noticed the restore files where growing bigger than what I had on the hard ..
Restore is the lazy mans way.. sort of like when the red light comes on on the dashboard in the car it is to late by then... I like the old stlye gauges you can see you have a heat problem before it hits the red mark..
Any way hi to all long time no see!
Thanks
Mac!!!

Hi Mac,
You're right, long time no see - my fault entirely. I haven't been around much in the last few months to keep tabs on you guys. Hope everyone's behaving! /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
Anyway, System Restore has saved my bacon more than once but, as you know, I'm a newbie and need all the help I can get. Most advanced users, like you, don't have much use for it - or for WinMe, either. Actually, using System Restore gives me grief with NAV - has to be reinstalled every time - so it probably wouldn't have been much of a help with your problem.
You sound like hubbie regarding dashboard "idiot" lights. His comment:
"All they tell you is that you should have had the car serviced last week, if not earlier."

Mac,
As I mentioned earlier, I haven't been around enough myself to be able to answer your question, sorry. As for me, I was ill during the spring and am still recuperating, consequently I'm not here as much as I'd like to be.
Sorry,
