Howdy!
When I copy & paste pictures or emoticons in e-mails, when I click SEND I get a message saying: "One or more of the pictures in this message could not be found. Do you want to send this message anyway?"
I have OE6 & in TOOLS > OPTIONS on the SEND tab I have HTML checked for MAIL SENDING & NEWS SENDING FORMAT. In the HTML SETTINGS I have the option SEND PICTURES WITH MESSAGES checked. What am I missing? I used to be able to do this before I reformatted & I don't know if I've overlooked a setting or what.
I'm not getting any error messages other than that one. Come to think of it, I think I used to be able to do it after I reformatted but I think I was getting a stack page error sometimes & I think I made some adjustments somewhere but I can't remember where.
Thanks!

Hey, smudassir!
I'm mostly interested in being able to copy & paste my emoticons in e-mail. It's faster & easier to C & P because I've got them saved all on one file, (I pasted them all in an e-mail & saved it so I could see all of the emoticons at the same time without having to open a different file for every emoticon & only being able to see them one at a time.
I can do it the way you said if I re-do my emoticon file by clicking on each one & "save picture as". I used to be able to copy & paste them but now I can't because when I do I get the "One or more of the pictures could not be found." popup notification when I click on SEND.
I'll keep on looking & if I find a way to fix my problem I'll post it here. If I don't find a fix, you know what I'll be doing in my spare time the next day or so, copying & saving ALL of my emoticons as a single, individual file.
Thanks, smudassir! /images/forums/icons/wink.gif

HappyHillbilly,
Welcome (a bit late, sorry) - to WinGuides, the best forum on the web!
According to a July 18/03 Q&A (?yours?) about Emoticons at the (Click) MS Outlet Express Web Based Newsgroup,</font color=red> (http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=cddgall&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie 6_outlookexpress><font) you could use a programme called (Click) OE-quote Fix.</font color=red> (http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/><font)
According to their FAQs:
<font color=blue>"OE-QuoteFix can show plain-text emoticons/smilies using images (fully customizable)."</font color=blue>
I have never used OE-QuoteFix, but it's free so I've DLed it to give it a try.
Good luck,

/images/forums/icons/cool.gif Thanks for the welcome, Nana! No need to apologize. /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
Naw, that MS post isn't mine but I did find the OE-Quote Fix interesting. I thank you for the heads up on that. I read what the site had to say about it & I'm going to research it some more. I'm sure I'll download it as well. Be interesting to see if it's loaded with spyware or not. I'm sure there's nothing that Spybot can't take care of.
I'm very picky about my e-mail. I hate it when I get something that's been forwarded 20 times without anyone taking the time to clean up all the old addys & bullets. AARRGGGHHHHHHH!!!
Thanks again, Nana!

HH,
Regarding those oh so irritating <font color=blue>>>>'s</font color=blue>, I use a programme called (Click) Stripmail.</font color=red> (http://www.dsoft.com.tr/stripmail/><font) It's free & contains no spyware, adware or anything nasty at all.
Here's what it does, according to their site:
<font color=blue>"Strips the characters ">" and "|" from forwarded e-mails.
Formats the text into paragraphs, making it easier to read.
Changes the text's right margin, by indenting.
Can be used with any e-mail client."</font color=blue>
A narrow focus, perhaps, but it's a fairly small app - 176kb or 256kb - depending upon which one you choose to DL. It won't clean up the email that you receive, but it will clean it up before you forward to anyone else.
Hope it helps,

Thanks, Nana! /images/forums/icons/cool.gif
I'll have to give that a try. I've been trying to inform all of my contacts on how to clean & keep clean, messages, but some of them are just plain too lazy & don't care. Maybe this'll help. /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
It would be nice to find a program that'll remove all the old addys as well.
HH
HH,
"It would be nice to find a program that'll remove all the old addys as well."
Wouldn't it, though! I just cut them out, but it's a nuisance. In addition, I don't like my own addy ending up in forwarded jokes, cartoons etc. that friends send to me & several other people at the same time. I do have a hotmail addy which most of them humour me and use for that kind of email.
My biggest complaint with the addys being in those kind of emails is that they end up being sent around the net to every Tom, **** and Harriet. I'm sure that lots of spammers get oodles of "real" addys that way. The best solution is to send that kind of junk "BCC", but not many people do.

Heh! I cut 'em off, too. I just recently started using the BCC in OE, I found out it's best, the hard way.
I kinda hate to stray off of the original topic here but maybe someone reading this can learn from my mistake.
I had a situation where I sent an e-mail to all of my contacts by putting all of their names in the TO: field. The e-mail had to do with a sort of controversial topic to which I knew that all of my contacts would agree with me on. I wrote it in such a way that it could be forwarded to anyone else with my name & addy at the bottom for encouragement of any feedback to me from anyone getting the message.
One of my contacts forwarded it to a friend who forwarded to another friend that did not agree with the message, without deleting the old addys. Lo & behold, the last recipient was so adamantly against the message he decided to hit the REPLY ALL button & proceeded to bash me with language that me & my contacts would find offensive. So all of the original recipients of the message were sent a copy of his nasty message because he used the REPLY ALL button. I could've handled him replying to me, and only me, very easily. After all, I pretty much asked for it. But for him to drag everybody else into an argument with words unfit for the internet just flew all over me. I was polite, though, & replied asking him to please contact me & me alone & I proceeded to rebuff his argument. What does he do? Replies with another nasty message, to EVERYONE, again. I replied & rebuffed his comments and again I asked him to please respect the rights of my contacts & just reply to me. I told him that I would be more than glad to discuss or debate the issue with him but he needed to be more respectful of me & my contacts.
Guess what? Yep, you got it. AGAIN, he sent a retalliatory message to EVERYONE.
The fella wasn't very bright, though. In his first reply he proudly posted the letterhead of the company he worked for, (replying from the company's e-mail), with the title of his position within the company, the company's full name, physical address & e-mail address. I looked up the company, a corporation, & found it to be a pretty big land developement company in a major city here in the USA. I called & spoke to the vice president of the company & told him the situation about how this guy would not respect the rights of my contacts. I told the VP what the fella was saying about the controversial subject & asked him if this fella represented the company's standpoint on the issue & I asked if he'd mind if I contacted the local newspaper & had them publish what the guy was saying under a company letterhead, which could give the impression of a corporate statement. The VP apologized & assured me the fella did not speak for, or, represent the company on the issue. He assured me that the matter would be taken care of by the end of the day. 2 hours later everyone got an apology from the fella in which he explained that I had talked to the VP of the company & he got in serious trouble.
So, I learned a valuable lesson. I felt really bad that my contacts had to be involved & read the things he said. It won't happen again! /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
I enjoyed talking to you, Nana. Helps me to get more of a personal feel for this wonderful site. Andy-S has also been very friendly & helpful as I'm sure most, if not all, members here are. /images/forums/icons/cool.gif
Thanks a bunch to you all!!! /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
HH,
Sorry, HH. PLEASE, don't take offense as none is meant.
I feel you're partly responsible for the problem you ended up having. When you answered his first email to you, why didn't you copy his response and write your reply into a new email, sending it just to him. I know this may not have solved your problem as he still had all the other addys, OTOH, if he's lazy & automatically hits the "Reply All" button, his subsequent replies would have come back to only you.
I realize that hindsight is 20/20 and you probably would have done exactly that (or used BCC, as you noted in your post) had you any knowledge of how much of a jerk this guy would turn out to be. Also, other peoples (i.e. mine) after-the-fact opinions are just that - opinions - and not particularly welcome ones, either.
You have definitely given everyone a good example of why it's sometimes necessary, and often polite, to use BCC.
Later,
Nana /images/forums/icons/smile.gif
PS; You're absolutely correct about Andy. He's a great guy!
HH,
Going back to your original question about including pix in messages:
Why don't you try using Insert/Pictures instead of copying & pasting. It should work.
Nana /images/forums/icons/smile.gif
EDIT: Reading farther in the thread, I see you've already responded to this type of suggestion. I don't know of any other way to do this using only OE, so I'll leave it with my earlier reply regarding OE Quote-Fix.

I did that, with the hope that he didn't still have the other addresses. He must've used the REPLY ALL button over & over again on the original message when replying to me.

Yeah, it works just fine that way. shahsbro8 suggested the same thing & here's my reply explaining why I would like to be able to copy/paste: <blockquote><font class="small">In reply to:</font><hr>
<font color=green>I've got them saved all on one file, I pasted them all in an e-mail & saved it so I could see all of the emoticons at the same time without having to open a different file for every emoticon & only being able to see them one at a time.

I like being able to view all of the emoticons at the same time so I can pick the most appropriate one easier. Guess we can't have EVERYTHING just the way we want it when dealing with Windows, can we? /images/forums/icons/laugh.gif Must've been a security update or patch that has put a stop to my being able to copy/paste them, but I'm not gonna fret over it anymore. I've already started saving them as individual files so I can "insert" them.
Thank you, all, for your time & tips! /images/forums/icons/wink.gif
