I know we can use ctl v to paste onto the password field.

But when I use mouse, the paste is greyed. Is there anyway to ungrey it??? The reason i asked is that I am using a mouse macro problem which will not enable keyboard function, I want to be able to paste text onto password field.

thanks

Not much help, but the only time I've seen the Paste grayed out is when there is nothing copied into the clipboard to be available for pasting.

Care to share how you did it with us?

If you insist... okay... here it goes...

but first.. to make the short story long..... i have to tell what I want to accomplish..

I basically want to automate something, so that when I call home or my client, I can have my family member even a 9 year old kid or anyone who doesn't have to know what I am talking about. (Sometimes vnc/tightvnc is not fast enough and/or not enabled because of firewall) For examples, I am talking to my daughter on AIM and telling her to forward my port to 5800 on my router 192.168.1.1 and have to enter the command admin on password field. (Of course, I could have it set as always, but i choose not to run so many programs on start up, so I just aim my family member to do something for me by just one click)

In order to achieve that, either I have to train them and/or give them full instruction and/or automate the system so that they can do one click from desktop, it will do whatever I want them to do.

Fortunately I found a freeware called ghostmouse
http://www.mrdo.com/1.html#Freeware. (I recommend on software and didn't get posted it)

That's the most best accurate freeware I have ever found. I have tried the other one (http://www.aldostools.com/macro.html), It didn't work quite well, sometimes the mouse is not doing what I previously record. Anyway, ghost mouse is the perfect software for me. I could just save the script file, it will record every moment of the mouse.

However, I just couldn't believe I could not copy a password and paste into the password field. (I thought could I just put a text file and copy the password text and paste into it, but that paste function is greyed out)

I managed to find out there is another program called REMOTEKEYS (also recommended and is not posted yet.. http://www.freewarehits.de/&pn=RemoteKeys)

That's a very good automation program, I can put the text on a button, and I work that with my ghostmouse, I can have the ghose click on one button and the text will be passed over to the password field. (I think the remotekeys have automate mouse function too.. but I like ghostmouse much better)

So, the objective is one click, and do everything for me. Yea, I know I need 2 software to accomplish simple task, but at least it works now. Anyhow, both software are free. And remotekeys is really a great automation program as well. You may want to take a look.
