I was working on the registry in Windows Server 2003 and when I tried to reboot, I couldn't get back into Windows normally or through safe mode. I have figured out what I did, but I can't seem to find a way to edit the registry manually to fix my error. I can't run REG.EXE from the recovery console because it only accepts commands from the HELP menu. I have also tried to access it through NTFSDOS Pro, but REG.EXE and REGEDIT.EXE both told me "Cannot Be Used in DOS Mode" I am getting desperate, it took me two weeks to get the new system up with all of our software and running and if I can't get it online soon, I will probably be out of a job. Any help that is provided is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Mike

The easiest way is to remove the HDD and install it in another server as a slave drive. Download resplendant registrar from www.resplendence.com

Go to file, open for editing and then navigate to the registry hive on the slave drive and edit it. The registry hives are stored in %systemroot%\system32\config and you will probably be looking for the system or software hive.
