I want to setup a basic app with HTML/Javascript using IE as my front end. The PC that this will be used on is NOT connected to the internet so I do not need all the security crap on. Plus I want to be able to click a link to execute a local file without the "file download" window popping up, and just execute the file. Is there any way to turn this "File Download" window off? I haven't found a way in the IE options (using IE6 by the way) to do this, and was wondering if there is a way through the Windows Registry or using some javascript which I haven't found out how so far.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

When you click on it, and the download prompt appears, couldnt you just click on Open and it will download to a temp folder and activate from the website, I think.

Magma,
I could be wrong but suspect it will be correct. I have not had the need to try what you are doing.
Go to Start, Settings, Folder Options, File Types tab.
Scroll down the list until you find the program's name that is normally associated with that particular file type on your PC. The one you want to execute. The program that shows the extension you are working with in the lower part of the window when you highlight/select the program.
With the program's name highlighted, click the Edit button.
In the next window remove the check in the box next to "Confirm open after download".
Click Apply and Ok.
You should then either no longer be asked to confirm or you will then get the other box asking what you want to do but with the option for it to stop asking you for that file type.
