There isn't an earlier os place, so I'm doing this here. does anyone know where I can download the gui that makes dos windows 3.1?

I like eggs and green ham. i will eat in w/a fox, in a box, with no locks, wearing socks, on the rocks!

and that(and this) isn't a sig. I type it each time!

Sorry, can't help. Lame and useless as it may be, its still copywrited. Try ebay. It's going for < $10.

There is nothing that makes DOS into Win3.1. DOS/MS-DOS is the Operating System and Win3.11 and earlier are the Operating Environment [program]. You can have DOS without Windows but Win3.xx has to have DOS installed first, can't work without it.

Windows 95 is when that all changed and DOS was built into/part of Windows.

actually, that was windows XP. a Graphical User Interface is an operating environment. windows 1.1 to windows me/2000 are still just more advanced GUIs. win xp, however, is another OS. it is the only one without a dos screen at the beggining. learn some history.
