I reformatted my hard drive yesterday. Everything went fine up until the point where I have to reinstall Windows 98. I have the boot disk I made before formatting and I have all the 98 disks I got with my computer. My problem is that the computer will not recognize the disks.

My computer also comes up with an error saying floppy disk fail when I start up. I know that probably has something to do with my problem. What I can't figure out is why the disk is failing. It worked fine before I reformatted.

Anybody know how to fix?

you may have bad sectors on your disk

try chkdsk /f

or get some third party software to check it

You can download the files to creat a new floppy from bootdisk.com. If your bios supports it you could boot fron the cd and install without having to use the floppy.
