Hey!
I see I'm just a few minutes late but I'll go ahead & post this anyway just in case anyone can use the bit of extra info.
The procedures are the same for 98 & XP.
To change the fonts that appear on webpages, go to CONTROL PANEL > INTERNET OPTIONS. On the GENERAL tab, at the bottom of the box is a button named: FONTS.
To change the fonts in your e-mail for Outlook Express, open Outlook Express & in the top left of the window click on TOOLS > OPTIONS > READ (to change the fonts used when reading e-mail ). In the same OPTIONS box, click the COMPOSE tab to change the fonts in the messages you create.
To change mouse pointers go to CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE and then choose the POINTERS tab. If you don't find them, in CONTROL PANEL click on ADD & REMOVE PROGRAMS & choose the WINDOWS SETUP tab, double click ACCESSORIES & then check the box for MOUSE POINTERS, click OK & then click APPLY. It will then ask you to insert your 98 disc, do so & wait 3-4 seconds after the cdrom tray closes & then click OK and it will copy the files. The pointers will already be installed in XP so you won't need your XP disc. They may, by default, already be in 98 also, I can't remember.
Take care!

What shahsbro8 was saying to do is create an image that you want to use as a cursor with drawing/design software and save it to: C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS, (If "C" is the letter of your hard drive),with a file extension of .ani or .cur
If you want to use the cursors that Windows has to offer, go to CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE > click on the POINTERS tab. There are a few choices in that box but if you want plenty more to choose from, (better ones), click on the BROWSE button & it should open up to the CURSORS file. If it doesn't open up directly in that file navigate to it. C:\WINDOWS\CURSORS. /images/forums/icons/wink.gif

I don't know for sure how to do that. You might can use a program like Paintshop and/or Photoshop.
Sorry.

In reading I see that the hot spot of the cursor has to be defined so it is not so simple as making an image and then naming it as a cursor.
ArtCursor for $19.95 USD can do it.

Perhaps if you search around on Google you can find a free one.
Some boring information:
*.ani = animated cursor
*.cur = cursor
