I am trying to donate my old computer with Win2K installed. I want to format my c drive to get rid of Win2K and install a full version of Win98SE. So far, I've had no success. Anyone out there got suggestions?

Download a Windows 98 bootdisk from <a target="_blank" href=http://www.bootdisk.com>www.bootdisk.com</a>

Boot up with the disk in A: and use FDISK to remove all partitions including non-DOS partitions. Create a new partition, format and install W98.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I dowloaded boot98se but my computer won't boot from it on the A: drive. Is there s special setting in my BIOS that I should use?

You need to set the boot order in the BIOS to have the FDD before the HDD.

I reread your post and just want to clarify how you make the boot disk. You download the boot98se.exe file and then doouble click on the exe file. This will ask you to insert a blank floppy drive and will create a boot disk for you.
