I've tried to locate the string "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer\
Control Panel" in the Win98 registry and it's not there. Is there another way to hide the Internet Option tabs?

If the keys do not exist you will have to create them. Select the Policies key then right click in the data pane and choose New > Key to create the Microsoft key. Then again to create the IE key, and so on.

Personally, I have never gotten it to work in the CURRENT_USER section, only the LOCAL_MACHINE section.
