I'd like to make a new file type, or edit an existing one, that auto-downloads as "Open" instead of asking the user to choose "Open" or "Save As..." upon the File Download dialog box in IE. This file, something like a MS-DOS batch script, should be run automatically from something like a JS window.open() function.
I've searched the Registry long and hard, in addition to scouring the 'net for related information only to come up empty handed. Seems one can change every other setting but this one!
Yet there is a checkbox on the File Download box that says "Always check before opening this file type". When I have my webpage opening a .bat file, that checkbox is grayed out. So there must be a setting for that checkbox for each extension - and that must be in the Registry somewhere!
Any help is greatly appreciated :)
