Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) Size
Standalone machine: Running updated Windows 2000 Professional and updated SP3.
Question: Is there a benefit to installing the “Value Name: MTU” in the Tcpip Registry in the hope of improving the network performance of a connected ADSL Broadband Ethernet Router?
Problem: I have searched Regedt32.exe (Tcpip) for the “Value Name: MTU” and it appears not to be installed.
Question: Can you suggest the correct way of installing the “Value Name: MTU” in the Registry and setting the MTU size to 1500dc.
Many thanks for help given me, David.
